Welcome to my webpage! My name is Jose Scott, and I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the USC Schaeffer Institute for Public Policy & Government Service.
My research, in a nutshell, seeks to ascertain the impact of public policy on the institutionalization of poverty and inequality in the United States. As an interdisciplinary scholar, my work and interests span a range of social and natural sciences. In particular, I am interested in exploring the intersection of the following:
Behavioral Welfare Economics
Public Finance
Cognitive and Behavioral Science
Evolutionary Psychology
Neurobiology
Ultimately, I wish to understand human decision-making under the conditions of poverty, especially in response to public policy and government intervention.
